SkipTap Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 8, 2026

SkipTap is a one-tap jump rope game. We want to know how the game is played so we can make it better, but we don’t want to know who you are. This policy explains what that means in practice.

The short version

What stays on your device

Your settings (music on/off and volume, selected character), your best score, your total jump count, your jump balance, and the characters you bought with jumps are stored only on your device. They never leave it. Deleting the app deletes them.

Anonymous gameplay statistics

When you play, the game sends short event messages, such as “a session started”, “a run finished with a score of 42”, “a character was selected”, or “the music volume changed”. Each event also includes:

The random ID is not connected to your device, your Apple Account, or you. It is created by the game itself and stored only inside the game’s data. If you delete and reinstall the game, a new ID is created, and we can’t link it to the old one.

We use these statistics only to understand how the game is played: whether the tutorial is clear, how hard the game is, which features are used, and where things go wrong.

The statistics are processed by PostHog, our analytics provider, on servers in the European Union. Like any internet service, PostHog receives your IP address when the game sends data. PostHog uses it to determine an approximate location — country, region, and city — which is saved with the statistics. The game never uses GPS or asks for location permission, and we don’t use the IP address or the location to identify anyone.

In-app purchases

Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details or your Apple Account. The game only learns which characters you have bought, so it can unlock them. The statistics record that a purchase was started and how it ended (completed, cancelled, pending, or failed), without any payment details.

Sharing your score

The “Share!” button opens your device’s standard share sheet with a picture of your score. You choose where to send it, and the game doesn’t see what you choose. The statistics only record that sharing was started and whether it was completed.

Children

SkipTap is made for players of all ages. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Your choices

Because the statistics are anonymous, we can’t find out which of them belong to you. Deleting the app resets the random ID and removes everything the game has stored on your device.
